Mrs. Birt's First Party To Knowlton, 1877

Information courtesy of S. Swiggum. This information was extracted from the passenger lists on microfilm C-4529 held at the National Archives of Canada. The Sardinian sailed from Liverpool on April 19, 1877 and made a stop at Londonderry on April 20 before heading to Quebec. Between 1873-1876, Mrs Birt sent her children to Halifax. Although the children now began to go to the home in Knowlton for placement, Mrs Birt still placed children into Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
