Chaperones For Various Children's Parties

The following data is taken from various government reports contained in the Sessional Papers of Canada. Abbreviations are used for some agencies, for example, LSH is used for the Liverpool Sheltering Home (Mrs. Birt); NCH is used for the National Children's Home (Dr. Stephenson's); all Roman Catholic groups are marked RC; occasionally you will see Marchmont followed by either (Q) for Quarrier or (Man) for children from the Manchester Salford Homes. Because it is difficult to tell in the early years, when a party was only marked for Hamilton it was left blank. These parties could have been going to either the NCH or to the Earl of Shaftesbury home in that city. There are also a few parties heading to Winnipeg that are not marked. These may be Children's Aid (Earl of Shaftesbury) children.
