In the spring of 1911 the first group arrived at St. John, New Brunswick, on the SS Athenia. The second group arrived on March 29, 1912 on the SS Cassandra.
When war broke out Cossar trained to be a doctor and served with the British Army. After the war he resumed his work but in 1928 signed the farm over to the New Brunswick government for use of boys coming to Canada under the Empire Settlement Act.
Although most of these lads were placed in New Brunswick some were sent west.
If any one has additional information on any of these children please contact me.
